Military Service
He was appointed as a Telegraphist Air Gunner RN 1939. He served in H.M.S. Formidable for 829 Squadron 1940. He served in H.M.S. Illustrious for 810 RN Squadron 1942, 1944. He served in RNAS Worthy Down as Instructor 1944. He served in RNAS Dartmouth NS 1944. He served in HMCS Warrior 1944. He served in H.M.S. Excellent for Air Gunnery Instructor's Course 1946. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Drill Instructor 1947. He served in HMCS Shearwater for Observer's Mates School 1951. He served in the RN Obserevr's Course 1952. He served in HMCS Magnificent and HMCS Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron as Observer 1953, (CFR 1956). He was appointed as a Commissioned Observer RCN (With seniority dated 26/03/1956).
