Biography
He was living at Hamilton ON when he was recruited into the navy.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1959. In 1959 he served in HMCS Star for UNTD. (He was released.) (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1967). In 1967 he served in HMCS Star. (He was released.)

Anecdotes
Bill Clearihue reports that "He was the first Medical Officer to be transported over to HMCS Kootenay after the 1969 explosion, where he dealt with the dead/dying/injured. He is (2015) a HMCS Haida Volunteer, manning the Sick Bay."
