Biography
After his naval service he attended McGill University to study Nuclear Physics (Phd 1952). Worked with Atomic Energy Canada 1952-53 and then joined the Defence Research Board of Canada 1953-85. Afterwards he was the President Orbita Consultants Ltd., Ottawa ON.

 

Military Service

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet 1939. He served in Royal Military College of Canada 1939-41. He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c (Pilot Candidate) RNVR (With seniority dated 01/06/1941). He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent For #35 Pilot Course. He served in RAF Luton for #24 Elementary Flying Training School. He served in RCAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School. He was Awarded Wings 01/02/1942. (CFR). He was appointed as a Midshipman (A) (Temp.) RNVR) 01/02/1941. He served in RNAS Crail in 785 RN Squadron for TSR Training Course 1942. He served in RNAS Arbroath for 767 RN Squadron 1942. He served in RNAS St, Merryn for 774 RN Squadron 1942. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 01/07/1942). He served in RNAS Hatson for 831 RN Squadron 1943. He served in H.M.S. Indomitable for 831 (Swordfish) Squadron 1943. He served in RNAS Arbroath for 741 RN Squadron for Observer School Flying 1943. (Transferred to RCNVR 02/01/1944). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 02/01/1944). He served in RNAS Hinstock for Instrument Flying School 1944. He served in USNAS Lewiston ME USA for 738 (Avenger) Squadron 1944. He served in RNAS Inskip for 763 (Avenger) Squadron 1945. (He was demobilized 01/11/1945).
