In 1953 he graduated with a Diploma in Education from Dalhousie University.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. In 1948 he served in HMCS Donnacona for UNTD. (He was released.)

In June 1958, his BC Teachers Certificate was cancelled, based on a criminal conviction under Section 147 of the Criminal Code dated Dec 17, 1957.
