He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 13/07/1915). He served in RNAS Dunkirk For Duty as an Observer in Nieuports 1915. He served in RNAS Depot White City 1916. He served in #1 Wing (Dunkirk) 1916. He served in RNAS Calshot 1917. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross "For his services as gunner and observer on 14th December 1915, when with Flight Sub-Lieutenant Graham he attacked and destroyed a German seaplane off the Belgian coast." |
