He was demobilized from the air force and went to medical school, becoming a doctor.

He served in the Second World War as RCAF Air Crew. He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 15/12/1948). He served in HMCS York. He served in HMCS Beacon Hill as Medical Officer 1951. He served in HMCS Athabaskan as Medical Officer (Korean War service) 1952. He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 15/12/1953). He served in HMCS Bytown. He served in HMCS Stadacona. He was appointed as a Surgeon Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1961). He served in DND Hospitals. He was appointed as a Surgeon Captain RCN (With seniority dated 02/11/1965). (He was released.)
