Biography
He graduated from UWO with a BA in the Spring of 1953; LLB in 1962; admitted to Bar 1964. He was elected as the MP for Perth/Perth-Wilmot, 1972-1984. H ewas appointed as the Minister of State (Fed-Prov Relations) in Joe Clark's Cabinet; 1979.06.04 - 1980.03.02. He retired from politics at the 1984 election. He retired from politics in 1984 and served as President of the Progressive Conservative Party for 4 years before joining the law firm of McCarthy Tétrault in an advisory capacity.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 23/01/1950). He served in HMCS Prevost for UNTD 1949-1951. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieuteant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1952). In 1952 he served in HMCS Star. (He was released.)
