Military Service
He joined the RCAF in May 1944, arriving at the Manning Depot in Toronto on 6 June 1944. He transferred to the RNVR (Fleet Air Arm) as a Pilot Candidate. (He was demobilized in 1945). He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) 1945. In 1945 he served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD (St. FX). (He transferred to the RCAF.) He served in RCAF Centralia for Pilot Training. He was awarded wings 1949. He was appointed as a Pilot Officer RCAF. He served in RCAF Trenton for Air Armamnets Course. He was appointed as a Flight Lieutenant RCAF. He was appointed as a Squadron Leader RCAF. He served in RCAF Station Torbay. He served in RCAF Comox in 407 Squadron. He served in RCAF Station London for Officer School as Instructor. He served in RCAF Centralia. He served in RCAF Station Toronto for Staff School as Instructor. He served in RAF Staff College (Bracknell, UK) for Staff Course. He served in RCAF HQ (Ottawa) for Directorate of Air Plans. He was appointed as a Wing Commander RCAF. He served in CFB Greenwood for 405 Squadron. He was appointed as a Colonel (AERE) (CF). He CFB Summerside as Commanding Officer - 415 Maritime Patrol Squadron. He served in Maritime Command HQ as Command HQ as SSO Operational Readiness (Air). He served in NDHQ for Directorate of Maritime Aviation (DMA). (He was released.)
