Biography
He was a painter at the time of his recruitment into the navy. He died after a long illness in hospital.
 
Military Service
In 1915 he served in the 15th Battalion in France. He was wounded and invalided home. He served in the 7th Battalion, Canadian Infantry during the First World War. (He was demobilized.) (After recovering from his wounds he transferred to the RNCVR). He served in HMCS Shearwater on Atlantic Patrol duties. (He served in this ship on her voyage to Halifax when she tendered subs CC1 and CC2). He was present at the Halifax Explosion.) He was appointed as a Petty Officer RNCVR. In 1918 he served in HMCS Rainbow. (He died on active service).
