Biography
He was the brother of Ronald Jones. He attended McGill University and was living in Westmount QC at the time of his recruitment into the navy.
 
Military Service
In 1943 he was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University). (Transferred to RCNVR 06/05/1943) He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR (With seniority dated 06/05/1943). (CFR) He was appointed as a Probationary Sub-Lieutenant RCNVR 1943. In 1943 he served in HMCS Kings (Officer Training Establishment) 1943. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 08/04/1944). In 1944 he served with the Royal Navy. In 1944 he served in HMCS Uganda. He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant RCNVR (With seniority dated 08/04/1945). In 1945 he served in HMCS Uganda for Pacific Theatre operations. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 08/04/1945). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 08/04/1953). He served in HMCS Algonquin as Executive Officer 1957. He served in HMCS Algonquin (I) (In temporary command) 1957. He served in HMCS Antigonish (In command) 1961. He served in NDHQ. In 1964 he served in HMCS Donnacona as Staff Officer. (He was retired 1965.) (He was qualified for aircraft direction and AIO duties.)
