Biography
After his naval service he was the unsuccessful candidate for the British Columbia Legislature in 07/1972. In 1974 he was an unsuccessful candidate for Member of Parliament. Afterwards he was a ministerial assistant to Jack Davis and Ray Perrault. He was appointed as a member of the Canadian Pension Commission.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RCN (With seniority dated 15/10/1942). He served in the Royal Roads (RCNC) 1942. He was appointed as a Midshipman RCN (With seniority dated 01/08/1944). He served in HMCS Uganda 1944. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/04/1946). He served with the RN for Training 1946. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 01/04/1946). He served in RCAF Trenton for flying Training 1946. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 16/05/1947). Awarded Pilot Wings 19/12/1947. He served in HMCS Cayuga for Watchkeeping Certificate 1948. He served in RCN Barracks Halifax for RCN Air Section (Dartmouth) for duty as Pilot in No. 1 Training Air Group 1948. He served in HMCS Shearwater and HMCS Magnificent for 803 Squadron 1949. He served in USAFB Lowry for Air Intelligence Course 1951. He served in HMCS Shearwater as Air Intelligence Officer 1951. He served in Fairey Aviation Ltd. Dartmouth as Acceptance Pilot 1951. He served in RCAF Toronto for RCAF Staff Course 1952. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 16/05/1955). He served in Royal Roads (Canadian Services College) as Assistant Officer-in-Charrge Naval Cadet Training 1955. He served in HMCS Stettler as Executive Officer 1957. He served in HMCS Naden on Staff of Flag Officer Pacific Coast as Staff Officer (Plans and Coastal Defence) 1957. He served in HMCS Sussexvale (In command) 1960. He was appointe das a Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1963). He served in NDHQ on Staff of Directorate of Organization 1963. He served in HMCS Qu'Appelle (II) (In command) 1965.
