He was buried at Templetown Old Church Graveyard. HMT Loch Eye was sunk with all hands on Friday 20th April 1917 by a mine from the German submarine UC-33 one and a quarter miles south-west off Hook Point, Fethard, Co. Wexford. Seven were lost with two unidentified seamen being recovered and buried in Templetown grave yard; one identified sailor, R. Pirrie, was returned home to his family for burial. |
