He was appointed as a Probationary Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS (With seniority dated 01/12/1915) in Ottawa ON. He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RNAS 1916. He served in #3 (Naval) Wing 24/06/1916. He served in RNAS Dunkirk and #10 (Naval) Squadron 23/04/1917. He was wounded near Ypres (bullet through left lung) 07/06/1917. He served in RNAS Manston 14/01/1918. He served in RNAS Redcar 15/04/1918. He served in #29 TS 19/07/1918. He was placed on unemployed list 11/02/1919. (He was demobilized.) (He rejoined RCAF 10/09/ 1939). He was appointed as a Squadron Leader RCAF 1939. He was engaged in staff and recruiting duties. He served in No.5 Manning Depot (RCAF St.Hubert and RCAF Valcartier) as Commanding Officer 01/05/1941 - 11/11/1941. He served in RCAF St. Thomas for Technical Training School. He was appointed as a Wing Commander RCAF on being given command. (He was demobilized.) |
