Biography
He obtained his pilot's licence at the Calgary Flying Club in 1935.
 
Military Service
He joined the Royal Air Force in 1936. (Transferred to the RN Fleet Air Arm January 1, 1939.) He was appointed as a Lieutenant (A) RN. In 1941 he served in HMS Eagle.

Anecdotes
He was Mentioned in Despatches for his conduct at the Battle of Taranto and in the withdrawal from Crete. He died while a prisoner of war at Derna Libya.
