Military Service
He served in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in 1917. (Transferred to RNAS 1917) He was appointed as a Flight Sub-Lieutenant RNAS 1917.

Anecdotes
While serving with the Canadian Expeditionary Force he was wounded in France. He was wounded again in a crash of a Curtiss JN-4 in a low level spin. He was killed after being hit by a spinning propeller.
