He was appointed as an A/Leading Airman RNVR (With seniority dated 15/04/1944). He served in H.M.S. Saker for Basic and Elementary Pilot Training 1944. He served in USNAS Grosse Ile MI for Training 1944. He served in USNAS Pensacola for Flying Training 1944. He served in RCAF Kingston for #14 Service Flying Training School 1944. Awarded Pilot Wings 16/02/1945. He was appointed as a A/Petty Officer Pilot RNVR (With seniority dated 16/02/1945). He served in H.M.S. Macaw 1945. (CFR). He was appointed as a A/Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (With seniority dated 20/03/1945). He served in RAF Errol for Advanced flying Training 1945. He served in RNAS Hinstock for Naval Advanced Instrument Flying School 1945. He served in the RN College Greenwich for Junior Officers Courses 1945.
