He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant, (Short Service Appointment 01/10/1951), He was appointed as a Midshipman (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/10/1951). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN. He served in NHQ For Special Duty on Course at RCAF Station Centralia 1953. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1953). He served in HMCS Magnificent. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 16/06/1955). He served in HMCS Shearwater For Duty With VS-881 Squadron 1956, (Selected for permanent commission). He served in HMCS Shearwater as Operations Watchkeeper 1959. He served on the Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast 1965. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1966). (He was released.)
