He was a bank clerk at the time of his recruitment into the navy.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Wireless Telegraph Operator (4th Class) RNCVR (With seniority dated 22/08/1917). In 1917-1918 he served in HMCS Niobe as Additional for Duty at Jedore Rock Radio Station. (He was demobilized.)
