Biography
His home was in Barrie, Ontario (civil engineer at the time of his recruitment.; Killed in a flying accdent, 16 June 1928 at "Aviation Field, Winnipeg"; as a mining engineer he had decided to secure a private pilots license and crashed in a Moth while taking a Western Canada Airways refresher course.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Cadet serving in the Royal Military College of Canada 1913. He went overseas with 48th Highlanders in First Canadian Contingent; taken on strength of RNAS, 31/05/1915; to HMS Excellent, 13 June 1915; foreign service, 16/09/1915; Persian Gulf, 2 October 1915; to HMS Alert, 7/04/1916; to Yarmouth, 14/07/1916. He served in RNAS Calshot, 27 July 1916. He served in RNAS Eastchurch (instructor), 11/09/1916; to Manston ("B" Naval Squadron), 15/10/1917. He served in 215 Squadron, 6/06/18 -3/11/1918. He served in #123 Squadron, 26/11/1918. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross "This pilot has carried out 22 night bombing raids. He has consistently bombed and machine gunned his objectives at low altitudes with distinct effect, showing great courage and determination, thereby setting a fine example to the young pilots of this squadron."
