Anecdotes |

Bill Clearihue reports that "he was actually murdered (shot in the head with a .22 rifle), by a hitch-hiker, Charles Wilfred Delorey, near Nipigon, ON, in the summer of 1975. He body was not found physically at that time, so he was declared legally dead in 1976. He was working for the Gov’t of Manitoba at the time. It was only in 1982 that his body was found and he was positively identified through dental records. Delorey was convicted of 2nd degree murder, November 7, 1983. Sentence: Life imprisonment without eligibility for parole for twelve years. Later appealed on the grounds of being pressured into guilty plea. Denied. As of 2007, he was still in custody in New Brunswick." |
