Biography
In 1901 he was clerk of works for a small town in Co. Durham UK.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Lieutenant in the Company of Volunteer Reserves, Victoria Company of Volunteer Reserves as Commanding Officer 1913. (He was mobilized for First World War Service). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RNCVR (With seniority dated 03/08/1914). He served in HMCS Shearwater II (For No. 1 Company RNCVR) 1914. He served in HMCS Niobe For Special Services at Quebec 1915. He served in HMCS Niobe For Special Service at Quebec and Saint John 1916, He served as Additional to HMCS Rainbow 1918, (He was demobilized.) (Transferred to the RCNVR and Mobilized for World War Two service). He was appointed as a Temporary Paymaster Lieutenant RCNVR (With seniority dated 03/09/1939). (He was demobilized.)
