"He was born in Montreal, Quebec, in 1940, but grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and Winnipeg, Manitoba, before attending Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, in Arts 62 He taught in Ontario secondary schools for 12 years before going to Sheridan College, where he was a professor of communications in the School of Arts and Animation for 24 years until he retired in 1999. He is the author of more than a dozen books, including textbooks that are approved and recommended by provincial Ministries of Educations and trade books such as the Discovering Canada series, (which consists of eleven books as of 2009). He is the president and CEO of the educational publishing company Little Brick Schoolhouse Inc. located in Oakville, Ontario, and has produced several Canadian History videos with educational kits for use in schools. He was recently involved with History Television to create a series of short videos, A Really Short History of Canada. His most recent video is Canada's Black Roots; 1605-1812, produced in 2007." |
