Biography

He was the older brother of Lieutenant-Commander David Lochead RCN. He was married to Sub-Lieutenant (Nursing Sister) Joan Stuart McDermott RCN. He was the fourth generation owner of the William Lochead Hardware Store in Forest Ontarion. He served for one year as the President of the Canadian Retail Hardware Association, and another year as a Past President. For two years he was also the Canadian Representative to the European Hardware Association.

 

Military Service
He had Second World War RCNVR service. (He was demobilized). He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCN(R) 1946. In 1946 he served in HMCS York for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1948). (He was released.)
