Biography
After his naval service he attended Queen's University for a mining degree and joined Dome Exploration.

He was appointed as a Naval Airman 2/c RNVR (With seniority dated 01/05/1943). He served in H.M.S. Seaborn 1943. He served in H.M.S. St. Vincent for #56 Pilot Training Course 1943. He was appointed as an A/Leading Airman RNVR (With seniority dated 30/10/1943). He served in RCAF St. Eugene for #13 Elementary Flying Training School 1943. He served in RCAF Kingston for #31 Service Flying Training School 1944. He was Awarded Wings 16/06/1944. He was appointed as a A/Petty Officer Pilot RNVR (With seniority dated 16/06/1944). (CFR 01/08/1944). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (A) (Temp.) RNVR (Appointed 01/08/1944) (With seniority dated 16/06/1944). He served in H.M.S. Macaw 25/07/1944.
