Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1950. He served in HMCS Carleton for UNTD 1950-1951. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Training 1952. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (On the retired list.) (He was released 25/02/1958.)

In 1952 he participated in the Annual Atlantic Command Track & Field Meet and placed First in the 440 yard run event.
