He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1948. He served in HMCS Chippawa for UNTD 1948-1949. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 06/02/1950). (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as an A/Ordnance Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Ordnance Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Ordnance Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 10/03/1953). He served in HMCS Niagara. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 10/03/1961). He was appointed as a Commander (MARE) (With seniority dated 01/01/1967). (He was released.) (He was qualified for ordnance duties.)
