Biography
He worked for the Royal Bank of Canada 1946-52. After his naval service he flew helicopters for a BC construction company. He crashed in Alaska in 1958 and was seriously injured. Afterwards he joined Sun Life Assurance Co in 1959. Branch Manager Vancouver office 1963. He moved to San Diego and established a general insurance agency which he ran until his death.

He was appointed as a AC 2/c (Pilot Candidate) RCAF (With seniority dated 13/08/1941). He was appointed as a LAC RCAF (With seniority dated 09/12/1941). RCAF Edmonton for #16 EFTS 1941. He served in RCAF McLeod for #7 SFTS 1942, (Commisioned from the ranks). He was appointed as a Pilot Officer RCAF (With seniority dated 03/07/1942). He was appointed as a Flying Officer RCAF (With seniority dated 01/07/1942). He served in RCAF Patricia Bay for #13 OT Squadron 1942. He served in RCAF Coal Harbour for #120 BR Squadron 1942. He served in RCAF Patricia Bay for #3 OTU 1943. He served in RCAF Bella Bella for #9 BR Squadron 1943. He served in RCAF Torbay NF for #5 BR Squadron 1943. He served in RCAF Yarmouth for #5 BR Squadron 1944. He served in RCAF Sydney NS for #116 BR Squadron 1944. He served in RCAF Scoudouc 1945. He served in RCAF Summerside as Staff Pilot 1945. He served in RCAF Greenwood as Staff Pilot 1945, (Demobilized), (Transferred to RCN(R) 28/11/1948). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated28/11/1948). He served in HMCS Chatham 1948, (Short Service Appointment 23/05/1952). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 28/11/1948). He served in HMCS Shearwater for 743 Squadron 1952, VS-880 (Avenger) Squadron 1955, (Selected for permanent commission). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (SSA) RCN. He served in HMCS Shearwater For Duty With HS-50 Squadron as Senior Pilot 1956. (He was released 1957.)
