He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 07/03/1951). He served in HMCS Cataraqui for UNTD 1950-1951. (Transferred to RCN). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (L) RCN (With seniority dated 19/09/1952). He served in the Royal Military College of Canada 1952. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (L) RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (L) RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (L) RCN (With seniority dated 01/03/1957). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1965). He served in HMCS Niagara. (He was released.) (He was qualified for electrical duties.)
