Biography
After his naval service he joined International Hydrodynamics as Vice-President of Engineering and Operations. In 1974 he became President and Founder of International Submarine Engineering Ltd. after retirement. He earned a BSc in mechanical engineering from UNB in 1960, and a MSC in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from MIT. He was a recipient of the Ernest C. Manning Award For Innovation 1987, the Professional Engineers of British Columbia Meritorious Achievement Award 1987, the British Columbia Science and Engineering Gold Medal in 1989, the Julian C. Smith Medal in 1990 and the Angus Medal in 1995.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Naval Airman Standard) RCN 1952. He was appointed as an AB (Naval Airman Standard) RCN. He was appointed as a LSAR1 RCN. (He was released.) (CFR). He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1956). He served in HMCS Brunswicker (University of New Brunswick) (With seniority dated 01/09/1956). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 12/08/1962). He served in HMCS Niagara, Staff Officer (Construction) for Oberon Submarine Project 1966-1968. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/07/1968). He served in Canadian Defence Liaison Staff London. He served in CFHQ. (He retired in 1971.)
