He was appointed as a Naval Cadet RCNVR. He served in the Royal Roads Naval College for Officer Training (First Class). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (Temp.) RCNVR (With seniority dated 01/01/1942) (Later backdated to 1941). He served in HMC LCI (L)-299 (In command) in 262nd Canadian LCI Flotilla for Operation Neptune 1944. (It is said that his was the first landing craft on the beach.) (Short Service Appointment 30/03/1953). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/01/1949). He served in HMCS Naden. (He was released.) (He was qualified with a Watchkeeping certificate.) |
