Ambrose Mackey (Email to Nauticapedia 11/05/2023) states "Capy Edward McKay was my grandfather’s (Joseph Mackey, St. Brendan’s, Newfoundland) brother. I cannot explain the difference in surname spelling but all of my records lead to him being the son of Daniel Mackey and Ellen Hynes, as your records also show. I remember seeing him only once when I was about 6 yrs old when him and his brother Bernard came home for family reunion." He was the brother of Captain Bernard Raymond McKay. |
