Became a lawyer in Hamilton in 1959.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1952. In 1952 he served in HMCS Star for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (S) RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (S) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/09/1957). (He was released.)

Anecdotes
In 1993 was fined $5,000 and suspended for 8 months for some legal infraction. He had apparently at one time been an Alderman for Ancaster/Hamilton.
