He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1955). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1959). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 01/05/1959). He served in NHQ for Flying Training at RCAF Station Centralia 1959. (He was released.)
