Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet RCN 1949. In 1949-1951 he served in HMCS Royal Roads (Officer Training Establishment). He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 12/12/1951). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 12/12/1952). He served in HMCS Niobe for Submarine Training With Royal Navy 1955. He served in HMS Amphion, HMS Springer, HMS Alliance, HMS Totem, HMS Porpoise, HMS Narwhal, and HMS Artful for Sea Training. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN (With seniority dated 12/01/1955). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 12/01/1963). He served in RN for Service in Submarines. He served in HMCS Onondaga (in command) 1967 and 1969 and 1970. He served in HMCS Okanagan (In command) 1969. (He was released.) (He was qualified for command in submarines.)
