He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1963. He served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD 1963. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He served in HMCS Cornwallis on Staff of UNTD Training Division East Coast as Expeditions Officer 1967. (He was released.)
