Biography
He was living in Sackville NB as the time of his recruitment into the navy. He graduated from Mount Allison University with a degree in History and Political Science in the 1960s. He began his career in the Canadian Foreign Service and served as a diplomat at several embassies and consulates for 10 years. He was Director of Immigration in New Brunswick in Fredericton from 1977 until 1994, when he was appointed Atlantic Director General of the Department of Citizenship and Immigration in Halifax. He was the President of Arthritis Society of NB.

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1960. He served in HMCS Scotian (Mount Allison Tender) for UNTD 1960-1963. He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1961. He served in HMCS Lanark for sea Training 1961. He served in HMCS Cornwallis for Training 1961. He served in HMCS Cap de la Madeleine for Sea Training 1962. He served in HMCS Venture for Training 1963. He served in HMCS Royal Roads for Training 1962. He served in HMCS Oriole for Sea Training 1962. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) 1963.
