He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1954). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 24/07/1955). He served in HMCS Shearwater for Duty With VF-870 Squadron 1956. He was appointed as a Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 09/05/1957). (Transferred to RCN(R)). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 09/05/1957). He served in HMCS Malahat. (He was released.)
