Biography

 

Military Service

He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN in 1777. He was appointed as a Captain RN (With seniority dated 25/10/1778). He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral of the Blue RN (With seniority dated 01/06/1795). He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral of the White RN (With seniority dated 20/02/1797). He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral of the Blue (With seniority dated 14/02/1799). He was appointed as the Commander-in-Chief in the River St. Lawrence, along the Coast of Nova Scotia, the islands of St. John and Cape Breton and in the Bay of Fundy and the Islands of Bermuda. He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral of the White RN (With seniority dated 01/01/1801). He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral of the Red RN (With seniority dated 23/04/1804). He was appointed as a Admiral of the Blue RN (With seniority dated 09/11/1805).
