Biography
After his naval service he emigrated to Canada and joined the Canada Department of Transport as Meteorologogist 1958. He worked at Dorval PQ as Meteorologogist 1958. He worked at Gander NF as Meteorologist 1959. He was seconded by Transport Canada to the RCN in 1959.) After his RCN service he was appointed as Officer-in-Charge of Fleet Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre HMC Dockyard Halifax and as Senior Staff Officer Meteorological and Oceanographic Information Services 1969. DND HQ as Director of Meteorological and Oceanographic Plans Policy and training 1973. He retired again 01/12/1977. After his government service he joined UN World Meteorological Organisation as Advisor (Marine Meteorology) for Southeast Asia Region (Kuala Lumpur) 1978-81. Afterwards he was a private Consultant in Marine Meteorology 1981 - 1998.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Instructor Lieutenant RN (With seniority dated 10/09/1939). He served in the Royal Naval College Greenwich for Training 1939. He served in H.M.S. Diomede as Instructor Officer and Action Information Officer 1940. He served in H.M.S. Dolphin as Navigation Instructor to 5th Submarine Flotilla 1942. He served in H.M.S. Elfin as Navigation Instructor to the 6th Submarine Flotilla. He served in RN College Greenwich for Meteorological Qualification Course 1945. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (SB) (Meteorology) RN (With seniority dated 10/09/1945). He served in H.M.S. Frobisher as Cadet Training Officer 1945. He served in H.M.S. Afrikander (Simonstown SA) on Staff of Commander-in-Chief South Atlantic as Command Education and Meteorological Officer and as Officer-in-Charge Fleet Weather Centre 1947. He served in Admiralty HQ London as Planning Officer to Director Naval Weather Service 1950. He was appointed as a Commander (SB) RN (With seniority dated 05/08/1952). He served in SACLANT HQ (Norfolk VA USA) as Assistant Director Meteorological Policy and Plans 1952. He served on Staff of Flag Officer Scotland and Northern Ireland as Command Education and Meteorological Officer and as Officer-in-Charge Fleet Weather Centre RNAS Abbotsinch 1955. (He resigned 01/06/1958.) (He was seconded to RCN 1959). He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (SB) (Meteorology) RCN 1959 (With seniority dated 10/09/1945). He served in HMCS Stadacona on Staff of Flag Officer Atlantic Coast and for HMCS Shearwater as Officer-in-Charge Meteorological School 1959. (Transferred to RCN 1965). He was appointed as a Commander (SB) (Meteorology) 1965 (With seniority dated 05/08/1955). He served in SACLANT HQ (Norfolk VA USA) as Coordinator Military Oceanographic (MILOC) Services 1965. (He was retired 01/08/1969.
