Biography
He grew up in Economy, Colchester Co., NS, attending Bass River High School. He attended Acadia University, enrolled in senior matriculation from 1961-1962, beginning a BSc in 1962, transferring to a BA in 1964, graduating with a BA in History and English in 1966, and graduating with a Bed in 1967. He obtained a PhD from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Morrison is a professor at Saint Mary’s University in the History department; he is a former Dean of Arts and Coordinator of the Asian Studies program at Saint Mary’s University. In 2009, Morrison was awarded the Order of Canada.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1962-1964. He served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD 1962. (He was released.)
