Biography
After his naval service he joined Air Canada 1965 as Pilot to present. (He legally changed his family name to Benton.)
 
Military Service
(Short Service Appointment). He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 03/09/1958). He served in HMCS Venture (Officer Training Establishment) for Training 1958. He served in RCAF Centralia for Flying Training 1960. He served in RCAF Penhold for #4 FTS 1960. He served in RCAF Saskatoon for Service Flying Training 1961. He was Awarded Wings 1961. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1960). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron for Tracker Conversion 1961. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (SSA) RCN (With seniority dated 01/09/1961). He served in HMCS Shearwater for VS-880 Squadron 1962. He served in HMCS Bonaventure for VS-880 Squadron 1963. He served in HMCS Stadacona for Staff of Maritime Commander as Watch Officer Controller 1963. He served in HMCS Shearwater for VU-32 Squadron as Pilot 1964. (He was released 01/09/1965.)
