Biography
He earned his F.R.C.S. in Urology which he obtained in 1968. He came to Prince Edward Island and was the only Urologist in the province until 1983, working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital until his retirement in 2001.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 04/02/1950). He served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD (Mt A) 1949-1951. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/05/1952). He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (P) RCN(R). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (P) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 10/07/1954). (He transferred to the RCN). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant (P) RCN (With seniority dated 01/06/1957). He was appointed as a Surgeon Lieutenant-Commander RCN (With seniority dated 01/06/1964). He served in HMCS Shearwater as Medical Officer. He served in HMCS Bonaventure as Medical Officer. In 1963-1965 he served in HMCS Cornwallis as Principal Medical Officer. (He was released.)

Anecdotes
He was chosen as a Rhodes Scholar from New Brunswick and studied at Oxford University, England, where he received an M.A. Degree in 1956.
