Biography
He served as Dean of Medicine - Dalhousie University - Halifax, NS (1985 to 1992). He served as Chairman - Board of Governors - American College of Physicians Inductee - Canadian Medicine Hall of Fame (2014). He was the Founding President - International Consortium of MS Centers and served as President - American Osler Society and as President - Canadian Society for the History of Medicine. He is the author - He is the author of numerous Medical texts and articles.

He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 02/01/1956). He served in HMCS Scotian for UNTD (St. F.X.) 1955-1958. He was appointed as an A/Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R) (With seniority dated 01/07/1958). In 1958 he served in HMCS Scotian. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RCN(R). He was appointed as a Lieutenant RCN(R). (He was released.)
