Biography
She was the wife of Commander (NR) Brian Cook. In 1999, she completed her Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Alberta in the Perinatal Research Centre under the supervision of Dr. David Olson. She joined the Faculty of Nursing as an Assistant Professor in 1996 and progressed through the ranks to Professor. In 2006-2011, she assumed the role of Associate Dean (Research). She died prematurely at the height of her career achievements.

Military Service
She was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (NR) 1974. She served in HMCS Cataraqui 1974. She was appointed as a Lieutenant (NR) 1976. She was the Officer-in-Charge of the HMCS STAR, Engineering and Boatswain Division from 1980-1987. She was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (NR) 1982. She was appointed as a Commander (NR) 1990. She was appointed as a Captain (NR) 1994. She served in HMCS Discovery as Commanding Officer 1993-1996. She was appointed as an AdC. She served as the Western Coordinator Naval Reserves 1994-1996. She served as the Director Star Program (CFCSC) 1994-1997. She served for 10 years as Consultant and Senior Advisor (Naval Reserve) and for 17 years as a Member of the Naval Reserve Council. (She was released.) On May 04, 2014 she was posthumously promoted to Commodore RCN in recognition of her contribution to Canada's Naval Reserves.
