Biography
He was a teamster at the time of his recruitment into the navy.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Trimmer) RNCVR. In 1917 he served in HMS Vivid (Devonport). (He was demobilized).

Anecdotes
He died at the Royal Naval Hospital Stonehouse 3 March 1918. He is buried in a Commonwealth War Grave at Ford Park Cemetery in Plymouth, Devon, UK.
