Biography
He was the fifth of seven sons of Major General Charles L.W. Nugent. In 1888 he married Maude Rutherford, daughter of H. Rutherford. In 1925 he moved to "Fosswel" at Somenos Lake BC. He was President of the Vancouver Island Flockmasters' Association. In 1947 they moved to Victoria BC.
 
Military Service
He served as a Naval Cadet 1875. He was appointed as a Midshipman RN. He served in HMS Agincourt for Sea Training. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant RN. He was appointed as a Lieutenant RN. He served at Suakin in the Sudan Campaign. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander RN. He was appointed as a Commander RN c1900. He served in HMS Magnificent 1900. He served in H.M.S. Algerine (In command) 1902 (on the Pacfic Station). He was appointed as a Captain RN (With seniority dated 31/12/1904). He served in HMS Gladiator (In command) 1906. He served in HMS Flora (In command and as Senior-Officer-in-Charge) (Detached from China Squadron) 1909. He served in HMS Illustrious (In command). He was appointed as a Rear-Admiral RN. (He was placed on the Retired List on 2 June, 1916). He was appointed as a Vice-Admiral (Retired) RN (With seniority dated 09/04/1920).
