He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 12/12/1950). He was appointed as a Lieutenant (E) RCN (With seniority dated 12/05/1953). He served in HMCS Quebec. He was appointed as a Lieutenant-Commander (E) RCN (With seniority dated 12/05/1961). (He was retired in 1974.)
