He served as an Marine Engineer in the merchant marine for 15 years.

 

Military Service
He was appointed as a Naval Cadet (UNTD) RCN(R) 1951. In 1951 he served in HMCS Chippawa for UNTD. He was appointed as a Sub-Lieutenant (E) RCN(R). He was appointed as an A/Lieutenant (E) RCN(R) (With seniority dated 10/01/1951). He was appointed as an Lieutenant (E) RCN(R). In 1955 he served in HMCS York. In 1955 he served in HMCS Quebec for Sea Training. (He was released.)
