Biography
He attended McGill University. Youthful summers working on commercial fishing boats led inevitably to wartime naval service in the North Atlantic, Africa and the Far East. In 1944 after the short naval summer training period of 1944 he signed on as the 3rd Mate of the SS Mount Revelstoke Park. He was the Marine Superintendent of The Canadian Fishing Co. Ltd. in 1953. Won an Alfred P. Sloane Fellowship to study at MIT School of Industrial Management. He was appointed General Manager of J.H. Todd & Sons Ltd. 1955.

He was appointed as an Officer Cadet (COTC McGill University) (Transferred to RCNVR) He was appointed as an Ordinary Seaman (Officer Candidate UNTD) RCNVR 1943. (Transferred to Merchant Marine).

Anecdotes
Bill Clearihue states "By the time he arrived at McGill in 1940, he had already attended UBC and U Manitoba. He was the Eng. Class President in 1940/1941 & 1941/1942 and the Engineering Social Chairman in 1943." He served as President of the Fisheries Council of Canada and later consulted on a global basis for the World Bank, the United Nations and several countries. He moved to Rome when he became a director within the United Nations - Food and Agriculture Organization.
