Biography
He was a gardener (a founder of the Chemainus Garden Club) at the time of his recruitment into the navy. He served in the Empress of China, Empress of Japan, Princess May, Princess Mary and Maquinna. He lived in Victoria BC and Chemainus BC. He worked for the Victoria Lumber & Manufacturing Co.
 
Military Service
He was appointed as a Chief Petty Officer RNCVR and served as an instructor in the RNCVR during the First World War. (He was demobilized).
